First Aid is an Autobot with the role of Doctor who is very compassionate and hates to see any machine in pain. He follows his motto: "An ounce of maintenance is worth a pound of cure" by being cautious and repairing small problems before they get worse (according to his Tech Spec). First Aid is one of the five Protectobots (along with the other four Protectobots: Blades, Groove, Hot Spot and Streetwise) that combine to form the Super Warrior Defensor acting as a leg or arm. The Protectobots are named so because they each transform into Emergency vehicles, in this case the alternate mode for First Aid is an ambulance.

The Generation 1 First Aid was available individually in 1986 and was also available in the Defensor gift set during the same year.
