Slingshot is one of the five Aerialbots who combine to form Superion.  He is an Autobot with the function of Ground Troop Support.  The good qualities of Slingshot are being hardworking and loyal. But on the other hand he brags constantly and secretly lacks self confidence. 

Besides forming and arm or leg of Superion, Slingshot also transforms between his robot mode and his jet mode.

The Generation 1 Slingshot and the other Aerialbots were released individually in 1986.  They were also available in the Superion gift set during the same year.
