Inferno is an Autobot with the role of Search and Rescue. True to his name he likes when things get hot as he is well equipped to fight fires with his special ceramic armour that can withstand extremely high temperatures. He belongs to the group called Actionmasters which are based on both existing and new Transformers characters. The Actionmasters do not transform, but their weapons or vehicles do. In this case Inferno's "Hydro-Pack" transforms into a "High-Pressure Cannon" (according to his Tech Spec).

The Generation 1 Inferno was released in 1990.
