Hot Rod is an Autobot with the function of Cavalier who transforms between his robot mode and his sports car mode.  He is an “all-American-boy Autobot” (according to his Tech Spec) who is a brave and honorable fighter.  Being young he doesn’t always want to follow the rules which can sometimes get him into trouble. 

The Generation 1 Hot Rod was released in 1986.
