Ravage is one of the Decepticons who belongs to the group called Cassettes (since he transforms between his jaguar mode and his cassette mode).  He and the five other Decepticon Spy cassettes:  Laserbeak, Buzzsaw, Ratbat, Rumble and Frenzy are carried in the tape compartment of Soundwave (who transforms into a tape deck).

He is well suited to his role as Saboteur as he is able to avoid being seen by walking silently and disappearing into the shadows.  Just like a cat Ravage enjoys being out at night (according to his Tech Spec).

The Generation 1 Ravage was released with Rumble in 1984 without a rub sticker and with one from 1985 onwards.
