Eject is one of the Autobots who belongs to the group called Cassettes (since he transforms between his robot mode and cassette mode). He and five other Autobot cassettes: Steeljaw, Ramhorn, Rewind, Grandslam and Raindance are carried in the tape deck of Blaster (who transforms into an AM/FM Stereo Cassette Player).

Eject's role is Electronic Surveillance and as a cassette he has many abilities which aid him such as recording radio and tv programs, decoding scrambled signals and tapping phones (according to his Tech Spec). He is also obsessed with sports and sports cliches, fitting them into his everyday language and often leaving others confused with what he is really trying to say.

The Generation 1 Eject was released together with the Generation 1 Ramhorn in 1986.
