Blaster is an Autobot with the function of Communications.  He loves all Earth music, especially rock’n’roll and he is “in the forefront of any situation he’s involved in” (according to his Tech Spec).  Blaster is able to receive very low radio frequencies and can transmit signals great distances. 

Blaster transforms between his robot mode and his “ghetto blaster” (AM/FM Stereo Cassette Player) mode.  In his tape deck he stores four cassette tape Transformers:  Steeljaw, Ramhorn, Rewind and Eject.

The original Blaster was part of Takara’s Micro Change toy line in 1982.  The Generation 1 Blaster was then released as part of the Transformers by Hasbro in 1985.
