Astrotrain is a Decepticon with the role of Military Transport who “thrives on foes’ panic and fear” (according to his Tech Spec).  He is a Triple Changer who loves to create confusion as he rapidly transforms between his robot mode, train mode and space shuttle mode. 

The Generation 1 Astrotrain was released in 1985 and was based on a figure from Takara’s Diaclone toy line.
