Hot Spot is an Autobot with the motto "Rust never sleeps, and neither do I" (according to his Tech Spec). He is full of energy and constantly on the move, so much so that his fellow Autobots can not always keep up. Hot Spot is the Leader of the Protectobots who together (along with the other four Protectobots: First Aid, Blades, Groove and Streetwise) combine to form the Super Warrior Defensor acting as the body and head. The Protectobots are named so because they each transform into Emergency vehicles, in this case the alternate mode for Hot Spot is a fire engine.

The Generation 1 Hot Spot was available individually in 1986 and was also available in the Defensor gift set during the same year.
