Vortex is a Decepticon with the role of Interrogation who has a unique method of getting information from the Autobots.  He scares them into talking by taking them for “death-defying flights” (according to his Tech Spec) when he transforms into helicopter mode. Vortex is one of the five Combaticons that combine to form Bruticus.  In the original Transformers cartoon series Vortex is designated as the left arm of Bruticus, but as a toy can be also be used as the right arm or as a leg.

The Generation 1 Vortex was available individually in 1986 and was also available in the Bruticus gift set in Japan and Italy during the same year.
