Stakeout is an Autobot who transforms between his robot mode and his police car mode. He belongs to a group called the Micromasters who are split up into different types of Patrols (four Transformers in each patrol), Stakeout belonging to the Rescue Patrol (along with Fixit, Red Hot and Seawatch). This team, whose role is Search and Rescue, has all the necessary tools to give aid in the worst emergency situation. Stakeout has a very up-to-date and useful communications dashboard (according to their Tech Spec).

The Generation 1 Stakeout was released in a pack of four along with Red Hot, Seawatch and Fixit (all Generation 1 as well) in 1989.
