Jazz is an Autobot with the role of Special Operations/Saboteur who transforms between his robot mode and his car mode. He belongs to the group called Pretenders because he (as well as the other Autobot Pretenders) disguises his robot form inside a shell resembling an Earth being, in this case a human shell.  

Jazz is “Optimus Prime’s right-hand man”.  He also loves many aspects of Earth culture especially rock n’ roll music (according to his Tech Spec).

The Generation 1 Jazz was released in 1989.
